Morocco motorway tolls: the complete guide with Triq
Triq estimates the toll from the official ADM rate table (cars, class 1), single-barrier tolls included, and completes it with drivers' answers. You see the toll, fuel and total in the route preview. If a rate is unknown, Triq never makes it up.
Before getting on the motorway, the same question always comes up: how much will it cost, and is it worth it compared with the national road? This guide brings together everything Triq can do to help you anticipate the toll, with no nasty surprises.
How Triq knows the toll
Triq relies first on the official ADM rate table (Autoroutes du Maroc). It covers cars, class 1. The first version, in 0.10.0, covered the A7, A2 and A1 north motorways. Version 0.11.0 added the full rate table, including single-barrier tolls. The details are in the ADM rate table.
When a toll plaza's rate isn't known, Triq never makes it up. Missing information is better than wrong information.
Drivers complete the rate table
An official rate table is a solid base, but rates can change. That's why Triq combines the table with what drivers who actually go through the plazas confirm.
After a toll plaza, Triq may ask you whether the announced price was right. Answers are combined with confidence levels: a rate confirmed by several people carries more weight than a single answer. The whole process is explained in community tolls.

See the total before you leave
In the route preview, Triq shows the estimated fuel cost, the toll price and the total. So you can compare two routes on something other than duration: the motorway is faster, the national road can be cheaper. Depending on what you're after, the right choice isn't the same.
To make the estimate match your car, set your fuel type (diesel or petrol), your consumption and, if you like, a manual price per litre in Settings. It's an estimate, not a guaranteed amount. Everything is explained in trip cost.
Fuel in the budget
The toll is only part of the expense. For fuel, Triq uses prices shared by the community when there are recent ones near the route, otherwise your manual price. A station's page shows the latest known prices and how old they are: read community fuel prices. If you drive electric, also see EV charging.
During the trip
As you approach a plaza, an alert tells you about the toll. Toll announcements are read by the phone's voice, in French, English and Arabic. Voice guidance itself is covered in voice guidance in 4 languages.
When there's no toll at all
On foot and by bike, Triq shows neither toll nor fuel, since there aren't any. See walking and cycling.
Without a network
The toll shows in the route preview, with downloaded maps. However, in strict offline mode, Triq never asks you to enter a price, since that would mean sending information to the server.
A little ritual before the motorway
1. Open the route and look at the total, not just the duration. 2. Compare with the national road alternative. 3. Check your consumption in Settings if you've just changed cars. 4. After the plaza, answer the price question if you have a few seconds: you're helping those driving behind you.
Triq is still a free GPS: all of this is included.
A concrete example
You're torn between the motorway and the national road to visit your family. Open the preview of both routes: you compare the duration, but also the toll and the total. If speed is what you want, the motorway makes a good case; if saving money is what you want, look at the national road's total. Either way, you decide with figures in front of you rather than by guesswork.
Why we don't guess a rate
A wrong toll is worse than a missing one: it throws off your budget and your trust in the app. So Triq starts from the published rate table, plaza by plaza, lets drivers confirm or correct it, and holds back when it doesn't know. A community toll is also counted without duplicates, so the same plaza isn't counted twice, and old answers don't stay forever, so an outdated rate isn't kept when prices change.
How to contribute effortlessly
You have nothing to set up to benefit from the prices: the display improves with other people's answers. If you want to contribute, an answer after the plaza takes a few seconds. If you'd rather share nothing, turn the option off in Settings and you'll still see the prices.
Update your consumption
After a few fill-ups, correct your consumption in Settings: the fuel estimate gets closer to your car, and so does the total shown in the preview. It's the setting that changes the reliability of the budget the most, well ahead of everything else.
Key takeaways
The official rate table provides the base, drivers confirm it, and Triq never guesses a rate it doesn't know. Look at the total before you leave: you'll know whether the toll weighs heavily on your budget.
