How do I share my trip live with someone close?

With Triq, you start trip sharing during guidance and send the link to someone close. They open it in their browser, with no app or account, and follow your position, your destination and your expected arrival time. The link is temporary and you can stop it at any time.

Driving home at night and your family is worried? Trip sharing sorts that out with a single link.

How it works

During guidance, tap "Share my trip". Triq creates a temporary link. You send it to whoever you choose, by message or however you like.

They open it in their browser. No need to install Triq, no need for an account. The page shows a map and a few details:

Until your position comes in, the page shows "Waiting for position". Then it shows "On the way" and the map follows your car. The page is available in French, English and Arabic, and your contact can switch language at the top.

A link that doesn't last

Sharing is limited in time. After that, the link shows "This sharing has ended". You can also stop it yourself whenever you like. In that case, your last position is erased from the server.

What to know about your privacy

Sharing sends your position and destination, only if you start it. The privacy policy says it clearly: sharing stops when you stop it. The sharing page isn't indexed by search engines and isn't cached.

Keep in mind that anyone with the link can see the page. So send it to someone you trust, not to a public group.

If you use "Delete my data", your shares are also erased from the server. Want to know more? Read Delete my data and Triq without an account: your privacy.

Strict offline mode

Sharing goes through Triq's server. Strict offline mode cuts off all exchanges with it: remember to turn it off if you want to share your trip.

Triq is coming to Google Play; join the beta from the website.

Frequently asked questions

Does my contact need to install Triq?

No. They open the link in their browser and see the map, your destination and your expected arrival.

How long does sharing last?

It's temporary and stops on its own after a while. You can stop it earlier, and your last position is then erased.

What does the person with the link see?

Your position on the map, your destination, your expected arrival time, your speed and the time of the last update.
